Experience BKS
British
BKS is innately British. The leathers manufacturer was founded in Exmouth in 1986 and is now owned by the Northants-based Frank Thomas Group. The company's aim is to become the motorcycle industry's equivalent of London-based fashion company Paul Smith by providing the alternative to Italian leathers manufacturers.
Style
The Frank Thomas Group's extensive design experience and advanced technology can be used to produce fashionable suits with high-end protection while retaining the level of quality associated with the BKS brand. MotoGP contender James Toseland and television presenter Suzi Perry will also design signature fashion ranges for BKS.
Innovation
BKS leathers are renowned for their safety aspects and were the first ever to win CE approval. The quality of BKS leathers is also well-known within the industry and only the best materials - including kangaroo hide and stingray skin - are used in their manufacture. The acquisition of the brand by the Frank Thomas Group adds a new dimension to BKS.
Individual
The BKS ethos of individuality is reflected in the company's sponsorship programme. Britain's only MotoGP contender in 2008, James Toseland, is the only professional racer in the world sponsored by BKS. As a result, the popular rider does not merely wear a product that is provided to him - he has been heavily involved in the design of the suit from the beginning and his input will filter into the commercial race suit replica.
